It creates a cryptographic chain between exactly two parties where every transaction record incorporates the hash of the previous record, producing a verifiable and immutable transaction history. Unlike distributed blockchain systems that require network consensus among many nodes, Mustard Chain achieves tamper evidence through bilateral hash chaining — mathematically proven integrity between two parties without the bandwidth, latency, and energy costs of distributed consensus. The chain is auditable end-to-end: either party can verify the complete transaction history at any time, and any modification to a historical record is immediately and irreversibly detectable.
