Drift Calculator EAR99

The Drift Calculator is XO Defense's wind and current drift vector computation module for search, recovery, and maritime operations. It calculates net drift from wind speed, wind direction, current speed, current direction, and object windage characteristics to determine probable object position over time. The calculator supports anchor point optimization (where to deploy assets to intercept a drifting object) and search area refinement (narrowing the probable area based on elapsed time and environmental conditions). In military applications, drift calculation supports search and rescue, mine countermeasures, and maritime interdiction planning.

How XO Defense Addresses This

The Drift Calculator integrates with XO Defense's Maritime Safety and P139 Emergency Protocol to provide comprehensive maritime operational support. When a P139 emergency beacon is received from a maritime asset, the Drift Calculator immediately begins computing probable drift from the last known position, enabling search and rescue forces to focus their efforts on the most probable area. The calculator's output is encoded as a Mustard Envelope, allowing drift estimates to be disseminated over constrained channels to all responding assets. EAR99 classification enables international deployment for humanitarian and commercial maritime safety applications.
